Letting go of 2016 with a simple but powerful process…
It’s been a big year hey! Already people are hanging to #letthatshitgo #now and have been reaching out asking how on Earth you do that?!!? So, here is a simple but powerful journal process you can do to indeed let 2016 go. Whilst yes, we are not at the end of 2016, by doing this now in November, you are going to free your energy up, ready to CREATE 2017 fresh, with little baggage carried over. So when you do this process for December, it won’t be so heavy and you will feel lighter, fresher and freer by the time we reach Christmas, so you can celebrate in style and start your New Year NOW.
- Create sacred space for at least an hour (yes you can do it in shorter time – yet if you get interrupted and you are in the middle of processing a particular month, that stuff will surface right now in your reality so you will want to get back in and process it asap – get my drift? So, put your phone on do not disturb and allow yourself this sacred space – you do want a clean slate don’t you?)
- Have pen, paper (journal, process book), candles – make it sacred (and if you don’t have time for that – don’t let it stop you just doing this process!), you may need a tissue box
- Take a few moments to centre your breathe, breathing deeply
What to do:
After centreing your breathe, take these questions one at a time and write down what comes to mind. Remember, if you start crying or otherwise – allow it ALL.
Take a moment to remember how you started off 2016… now remember what was going on for you in January… what was the most painful parts about January? What were parts of January made you feel good?
Moving into February, taking a moment to remember what unfolded for you… what hurt you the most about February? What parts of February made you feel good? Was there anything in February that made you feel like you reclaimed a part of yourself?
Thinking about March, what was going on for you in March? What was the most painful parts about March? What bits of March, made you feel good and loved?
Moving into April, taking a moment to recall what was going on for you in April… is there anything that hurt you or was super painful? What parts of April, made you feel appreciative and grateful?
Remembering May… what upset you in May that you wish you could’ve changed? And… what was it about May that ended up making you feel good in your life?
As you move through June, what aspects of June didn’t feel too comfortable or even icky? What was the good things happening in June?
Remembering July… what hurt your Heart in July? What else did it make you feel? What parts of July are memorable in a good way for you?
As you reach August, take a deep breath…. what was going on in August… what did you walk away from that no longer served you? What is it that keeps hurting your feelings from remembering August? What aspects of August make you feel good, free and happy?
Remembering September, what comes to mind that hurt your feelings in some way? What is it about September that brings a smile to your face?
October is fairly recent… what hurts are you still carrying or agitated about that was going on then? What is it that happened last month that brings a huge smile to your face?
Now, taking a deep breath in… and a deep breath out…it’s time to leave the past in the past, it’s time to forgive and forget…. remember the good parts of 2016…
Now come back into this moment right now… there is still a tad of 2016 left… when stuff happens that hurts you… be okay with that.. accept it… and when you’re ready, get to a place forgive and forget… and focus on the good in the now… be the good in the now… create the good in the now… because all your nows, turn into all of your yesterdays and all of your tomorrows…..
Create your life… now….
