04 Feb Nothing is Ever Permanent
We live in a world of constant change. Nothing is ever Permanent. Nothing ever stays the same. When we hold on too tightly, clasping at what is changing, we create stress in our minds, bodies and lives. Take a look at our Mother Nature. Seasons change, plants grow and plants die. Our bodies are changing every single moment. As soon as we are born we begin to die. Our thoughts are ever changing as well, although, the only thing we can clasp on to – the only thing we have control over is our power to change our mind.
It can be challenging to let go, when I a part of us isn’t feeling safe or supported. We don’t want to move away from the familiar, there is safety in the comfort zone. Yet, growth comes when we are willing to move outside these limits, these self imposed limitations. Our dreams are fulfilled when we have the courage to lose sight of the shore.
If there is something you are holding on to, or something you are not willing to change, take some deep breaths in meditation – commit to 10 minutes every day for a week – it only need to start with committing for the next week, just like brushing your teeth (except I am sure you do this for more than a week!) – and see what clarity comes forth. You may start out of the blue thinking about something you hadn’t thought of previously, or get a strong feeling about calling a certain practitioner or career opportunity.
Just 10 minutes a day for a week. Just sit still, breath in and out, focus on your breathe, your chest rising and falling with every inhale and every exhale. Set at timer for 10 minutes (minimum) so you don’t have to worry about time. Do it. I would love to hear what benefits this creates for you.
